Boppy Covers

I made my first boppy cover today. I really surprised myself because I thought it would be quite difficult having a zipper and all but I mastered it and am so proud. In fact, the zipper really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The material I used was a little difficult because it was a minky fabric to match my sister-in-law's quilt and so I know it would look even better using a cotton blend fabric. I'm so excited that I figured out a zipper. I've always been afraid of working with zippers mostly because my mom can't master zippers and she's the one who taught me how to sew. I suppose since I find her to be a marvelous seamstress, I figured that if its something she couldn't do than neither could I. Wahoo!! I think you'll be seeing a lot more boppy covers on here now and in my shop of course!!

A new Quilt

I made a new quilt today for my sister-in-law's second baby coming. His name will be Brady. Together, her and I went out to pick out the fabric and I made it as a gift for her. She was a little worried about matching the fabrics because she just couldn't picture it. I think she'll be highly impressed and I can't wait to show her. The bottom quilt is a similar one that I made for my friend Lori. My sister in law liked some of the fabrics which helped lead her to the one that she wanted. I love the fabrics in Lori's quilt and the old fashioned children squares. The colors are incredible too. There's something so rewarding and fun to make a project with fabrics you enjoy so much.

I find it discerning that we as humans are so quickly and absentmindedly destroying our earth's resources that we neglect to realize that this practice will essentially lead to our own destruction.

I had to add my thoughts on this here as I do on my other sites. I feel that we as citizens need to be more conscious about our earth and the resources she gives us. You should never bite the hand that feeds you!!

Children's Smock Aprons

This is my newest creation and I am in love with them. They are trendy little smock aprons for girls and I suppose in the most boyish fabric might work for young boys. For now, however, they'll be for girls. I have made three in the last two days and will continue to make more. I am absolutely stoked for this new addition. I'm hoping they'll become quite popular.
You can buy these smock aprons or order a custom made one by contacting me here or at www.auntiemschildapparel.etsy.com.
